What Families Say!

Brian

Father

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the adventure we shared together.  Our children are 8 and 6 years old and both loved the new experiences and the time with their camp staff.  We all learned to push ourselves a little bit outside our comfort zone and had a good time meeting and connecting with other families.  I recommend this weekend retreat to any family that would like to grow closer to each other and create fantastic memories.

Nicole

Mother

My reasons for loving the camp run the gamut from the loving, phenomenal staff, worship time, breathtaking views- beautiful, serene property, the wisdom-filled speakers to the gluten free food they provided for our daughter with Celiac disease. Our family runs in a million different directions with entirely too many activities. We all have cell phones with constant texts and emails to return; we can feel disconnected to each other even living under the same roof. The 5 of us unplugged for a weekend!!! My husband, Steve, and I took away some GREAT parenting tips from one of the speakers that we have been applying since we got home. It’s hard to put in words what God revealed to me that weekend we were there together or how much I needed and enjoyed the time with my family. I HIGHLY recommend the family camp at Camp Highland!

Father Son Retreat

The Father & Son Breakaway has become a favorite program for Camp Highland because of the enormous relational impact we have seen in the guests. This retreat gives dads a chance to build their sons up through a weekend designed to engage the heart of a man.

Most sons are blown away by the fact that dad would dedicate an entire weekend just for them. Experience this weekend of adventure once and it will easily become an annual retreat for you and your son.

Activities & Schedule

A typical weekend consists of structured time (including group adventure races, time spent together with child, and discussion sessions) and unstructured time (open time where our adventure elements, lakefront, and trails are available for use). Dads and children stay together in cabins with twin beds and use our bathhouse.

      • August Father Son: August 23-25, 2024

What Father's & Son's Say!

Joseph

Son

The Camp Highland Father/Son retreat has been one of the best experiences of my life.  It has helped me to appreciate my dad, and helped me know that he’s always there for me.  The weekend is extremely fun, filled with adventure and amazing experiences.  The time in God’s word with a counselor and getting to spend time away with my Dad are  experiences I love and look forward to every year.

Greg

Father

My commitment to my kids that we do father-son/daughter weekend the earliest they can attend has been one of the best decisions I have made as a father. The mentorship and care the counselors have with my kids, the fellowship with other fathers, hearing from someone further along in the parenthood journey, having time with your kid without the everyday distractions, and the overall emphasis Camp Highland places on spiritual growth through challenge & adventure for both the parent and child is invaluable.

Father Daughter Retreat

The Father & Daughter Breakaway is uniquely designed to speak value and purpose into the heart of a young women. This retreat gives dads the potential to send a resounding message to their daughters: your identity is established by the Creator and honored by your father. Come challenge yourself to be a part of this valuable investment.

What Father's & Daughter's Say!

ANDY

Father

The investments I poured into my daughter’s faith and heart at Camp Highland while she was a little girl have proven to be an invaluable source of trust, confidence, and assurance in me now that she is a teenager.

Carly

Daughter

The Camp Highland Father Daughter has changed my life. It taught me how to pursue a loving relationship with not only my AMAZING dad but my glorious heavenly Father too. I will definitely be going to the Father Daughter weekend every year no matter how old I get!

Whether the Mom wants to get away with her son or daughter, or the Dad finds this to be the best weekend for his schedule, the Parent-Child retreat is an open weekend for moms or dads to spend a weekend with their child. Mom’s have often asked, “why isn’t there a weekend for us?!”, so this is it.
