Being "full" Has Never Been So Satisfying
How many times have I gorged myself at the dinner table, or inhaled my food so fast that I was beyond being full or even feeling the slightest hint of satisfaction?... Isn't it funny how words can have so many different meanings with unique emotions attached to them? In the case associated with the overindulgence of food, one may soon regret stuffing themselves to the brim with every yummy morsel found on his/her plate. On the contrary, the feeling may be different when it comes to being full with campers at Summer Camp. Actually, it's completely different! This year we have a full plate in our hands and it's ready to be devoured!! Ok, work with me here and think outside the box on this one. Now if you've ever been to Camp before, then this should come easy to you. Picture this... Your are in line at Golden Corral with a full-course, hot-n-ready buffet ahead of you, and only steps away from filling-up your plate. What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Satisfaction! You have a hunger and are in dire need to satisfy it. Merriam-Webster Dictionary says it well - Satisfaction is the fulfillment of a need or want. Now you may be thinking to yourself, "How does this apply to campers at Summer Camp"? The answer is simple. We want to serve as many kids as possible without compromising safety, relational connection, or causing anyone to feel unnoticed or uncared for. Know this; our goal is not to fill up our plate with more than we can swallow, but rather, to fill it to the edge and make sure that when we're finished, we have eaten every bite. Okay Zach, what the heck does all that mean??
...Lets debrief. This season, we have been blessed with a "full" 80 kids each week of camp and we want nothing else but to serve them with excellence! We are also undergoing a monumental amount of new construction, registration, and program improvements all across the board. I say all of this to get one simple idea across. JOIN US! Track along with us as we take on all of the amazing opportunities of serving on a larger scale. We are so excited to get to share with you all the incomparable, immeasurable, uncontainable amount of love that is displayed for us by the creator of the universe! And he wants nothing more than to have a personal relationship with all of us! That is truly AMAZING! So continue to grow along with us and stay connected through facebook, twitter, and our website! See you all this summer!
